While I'll admit I've been a little unfairly harsh on Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah lately, I find very few redeeming qualities in the Heisei films after that point.
Godzilla vs. Mothra might be my least favorite Godzilla film.
Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II flounders around in a pseudo-philosophical world that is even more annoying in some ways than that of Godzilla vs. Mothra due to its sheer stupidity "Do you think there will be another dinosaur age, after the age of man?" Give me a GD break.
Godzilla vs. Spacegodzilla is pretty boring, and while the Moguera design is cool, it's possible that Moguera has the least personality of any monster or mecha in the series.
Godzilla vs. Destoroyah irritates me because it COULD have been so much more than a chea cash-in on "Godzilla's going to die and let's have a lot of throwbacks to the original film" but it wasn't. It became pretty obvious that nobody involved in this film outside of Ifukube and Satsuma cared in the least little bit. While I find vs. Mothra and vs. Spacegodzilla to be lesser films, Destoroyah is imho the most offensively lazy Godzilla film there is.
I don't have a problem with people who like these films, as there are things to enjoy, but I personally can't stand them...I remember watching these films for the first time when they came out on those Sony/Tristar VHS tapes with equal parts embarrassment and disappointment.
EDIT: Just thought I'd add that I don't hate the Heisei series as a whole: Godzilla vs. Biollante is EASILY one of my top 10 favorite Godzilla films and probably one of my top 5.
