That's a shame...I always dreamt of riding the Jaws and Kong rides as a kid and now I know I'll never get to...oh well.

I wish kids were still entertained by the monsters that we grew up with instead of flocking to Harry Potter world and rollercoasters....

Maybe someday someone else will open a park that's nothing but rides like Jaws and Kong and at least Universal Studios still has the Jurassic Park ride

Blast!

I was hoping that one day Universal would invest in a King Kong vs Jaws movie.

But with both rides now gone, the likelihood of that happening now is slim next to none.

I remember about 6 years ago, I went on the Jaws ride for the first time since I was a kid. I remembered it being amazing, but as an adult, it kinda sucks. I remembered a huge, awesome looking shark coming up and practically knocking the boat over. As an adult, I saw a creaky wooden shark on a track slowly swim by. Funny how impressionable we are as kids and when we go back to things like that how they really kinda sucked.

But I'm sad as hell to see it go.

The old King Kong ride was replaced by a Mummy ride (as in the Brenden Fraser Mummy)... they also recently got rid of Back to the Future and replaced it with a Fast and the Furious ride. :(

Wow, crap ride or not, that is still sad.

It's still part of Universal Studios Japan, though, so the legend does live on!
