It looks a bit too serious. The whole reason Spider-Man is such a popular hero is because he's funny; the superhero who realizes how ridiculous his life is and points it out. The Raimi films still had levity and campiness, but Spidey/Parker was too much of a sad-sack and I hoped this film would rectify that - but if anything he seems more brooding!

*sigh*

Lizard is very humanoid, Ditko-esque.

Here's a Live blog of the SDCC Sony Panel. Some of the descriptions of the footage have actually made me excited for this. Mostly the bits about Spidey actually joking with people while he's out and about.

There's the link for that.
This page, http://www.superherohype.com/news/artic ... soundbites has a couple of clips from the panel.

Ditko version is actually my least favorite because the Lizard looks like a frog or are we talking third/fourth appearance of the Lizard where he has an elongated snout?

I was hoping for something from the 80s/90s where he had the long snout, teeth and claws. Who knows maybe he still will have that.

EDIT: Blurry shots of the Lizard

I still say it's more like Ditko's lizard simply because we don't say Godzilla reminds us of Cloverfield. We say something reminds us of something vaguely similar that came BEFORE it. Croc wasn't created until, what? the 80's?

Plus, here's the drawing I was thinking of

Alright... I'm a fan of the Ditko Lizard. But I am NOT a fan of this.

Ditko inspired, yes... Good? No. And no real reason to be all CG either. This could have been done just fine practically (just look at all the incredible practical creatures in the Hellboy films).
