Virus

Pretty cool seeing Napoleon Solo, Buford Pusser, Lucas McCain (with a British accent!), Dragline, and the second Commander Adama in a film from the director of "The Green Slime" and "Battle Royale". The end dragged on, but a strong, thoughtful film.

Immortals

Worth a rent at least I guess. I beautiful film to be sure. Some great preformances as well...I think Henry Cavill will do a great job as Superman after seeing this film.

Mickey Rourke is one of the most memorable villains in recent screen histroy. An absolute scene stealer.

The way this film depicts its gods are also unique, they're not old looking men and women. They're young, Twilight esque looking young, attractive adults...and after seeign this film, I have to wonder...shouldn't it have always been this way? The Greek gods are vain, warriors who love to experience the pleasures of flesh as often as possible...it just makes sense that they would be young and not old, wrinkly prunes.

The script is kind of nonsense, and the characters are almost impossible to root for, but the film looks nice and you end up rooting for the characters anyways because Mickey Rourke's character is just so villanous that you want to see him stopped

Oh, and the cool looking bow and arrows that get featured constantly in the trailers...it's only used three times in the film...and only once by Henry Cavill's character...seems a little like a wasted oppurtunity..

Just got back from Immortals. It...sucked...in a BIG way. Let's see...let's make a big movie based on the Greek myths and then make it as nonmythological as humanly possible. A total borefest that made the Clash of the Titans remake look good(and that's saying something). I say...skip it.

The Emperor's Club

Wow, this was definitely entirely different then the way I thought it would be just by hearing the name. Definitely an interesting tale. The characters had plenty of emotion to them, especially the character of Mr. Hundert. I really did feel sorry for him on many occasions, and completely understood how he felt.

The score of the film didn't really do to much for me. It sounded too "Disney" for my tastes, but the acting definitely made up for it, along with the story.

The story was well done and the film executed it perfectly. I love how it was told through a first-person perspective as it does indeed help the viewer connect much more with the professor (the narrator).

Anyways, to cut everything short, I'm going jump the gun and give this a 3.8/5 stars.

I enjoyed it a lot and thought the comedy graced it nicely, but some of it seemed somewhat underrated. The biggest con of this movie for me was the score. I'm a sucker for film scores and its always the first thing I look for in any film. No matter what type. Sure, it was supposed to sound giddy and whatnot, but this was a little to giddy for me.

The Muppets

Oh yeah, they're back and hopefully here to stay. This is one of the best examples of a back-to-basics approach I've seen. The Muppets at their best are a kind of vaudeville/old Hollywood throwback; a celebration of silliness, sweetness, and goofy musical numbers. Jim Henson would be proud.

The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp

My forth film by Britain's amazing Powell and Pressburger team, and damn if they don't get better and better! This film is perfection.
