well, my order is in at deepdiscount. can't beat $15 and change. And looking at those screencaos, I agree that adjusting contrast, brightness, and color saturation will go a long way to making this look nicer. Yes it's true that TOHO's HD Godzilla transfers are not the best. But they're not that bad. Certainly the best the films have ever looked on home video.

And properly calibrating your monitor to compensate for the differences in U.S. & Japanese home video standards should make a world of difference. I know it does for the Toho blurays I have. I just played around with my monitor settings looking at the screencaps in the bluray.com review & it made a significant difference. It may not be totally accurate compared to watching it on my tv in motion, but it's at least representative.

While I'll wait to pass final judgement until I have it, I have a feeling it'll be much like the official toho blurays. It may not be the disc you put in to show the uneducated how awesome bluray can be, but it will be a solid enough release that is clearly the best you've ever seen the film look.

Since I already have the ADV lousy international version and a, uh, "homemade" DVD with good picture quality with an excellent AIP dub, I'm in no hurry for this release.

Amazon shipped mine, supposed to be here tomorrow.

Ah, finally. Now things can be at peace until the Megalon release hits a random snag.
