The Poughkeepsie Tapes
A few friends of mines were watching this when I arrived over for a small hang out. I sat down and watched it with them. This movie really blew me away. I am not gonna lie that it really scared me. I'm not talking about jump scare, there were a few scenes that made my skin crawl and made the hairs on my neck stick up. It had a very interesting style and the story was very conflicting and suspenseful. The whole thing did indeed have atmosphere. The acting was a bit of a downer. There were numerous amount of actors who, plain and simple, just didn't know how to act. Not hating on them, but seriously. The other thing that caught my attention was the special effects and the score. The music score was absolutely horrific with gloomy piano arrangements. It really set up the atmosphere well and gave the film (or should I say documentary) a nice touch. The special effects as well were very well done for an indie film. Not only that, the cinematography was also great! I normally am not to much a fan of the shaky video cam, but this style was used perfectly in this film. I truly loved it!
Overall, its a great piece of work and I recommend it to anyone who wants a good scare, especially for Halloween.
The Fiddler On The Roof
As some may or may not know, I am a big fan of musicals.
The Phantom of the Opera and
Rent being some of my personal favs. This film really, even after a first watch, has bumped its way to my top 5. I love this musical! It was excellent and the music is definitely catchy. Plain and simple, if you like musicals, watch it!
The War Lords
Um, yea.. I wouldn't call this Charlton Heston's best film, but it was okay.
uhh...
