The Stranger by Albert Camus. I said to myself: I want to read something substantial and literary but also not very long, then looked into my pile and pulled this out!

Also working my way through The Complete Grimm's Fairy Tales, a new(er) translation by Jack Zipes.

I read Catch-22 about 15 years ago, and I can't say I got anything out of it. I should give it another go -- Joseph Heller could've written it about a restaurant and it would sound like my place of work.

Fear and Loathing: On the Campaign Trail '72 by Hunter S. Thompson

I'm ashamed that it took me six years after HST died before I started rereading his stuff. I need to visit the Circus Circus in the near future.

Arthur C. Clarke, 3001: The Final Odyssey. So far, it's more engaging and shows more promise than 2061, which was OK until the very abrupt cop-out ending. It was a big letdown for me considering Clarke's capabilities, and he appears to be redeeming himself with this one.
