I'm pretty sure it originated with Toho's marketing department long before the Atari games, as this VHS cover from 1999 would suggest...

The Global Economic Woes seemingly bumped up the release of the Ultra-Act Power form of Tiga. Normally the Ultra-Acts release late in each month they are scheduled to release, but seeing today at a couple of places, the figure is ALREADY released! LOL!!!!!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE! I guess this will cause an upset to those who had pre-ordered thinking it will be available towards the end of the month.
