Just in case anyone actually believes that no other theaters in the area would do screenings of these films, the organizers should really look into this little revival theater in the remote area. My buddy who lives over there goes there all the time and he loves it.

They are doing their own monster/kaiju day soon

I'd bring this up to the organizers myself, but honestly, I really feel (know?) they don't care what anybody thinks since they don't even give answers to basic questions.

Legion did you go to 2010 G-Fest? It was held offsite of the two hotels that attendees stayed at and the actual Con/Fest was in an actual convention center and it was an inconvenient situation at best and a pain in the ass in reality. It was pretty shaken up just by it being held offsite compared to previous years. It was also pretty shaken up panel/session wise too.

G-Fest could definitely benefit from some sort of internet presence beyond the G-Fan website to get some input from people who plan to attend and feedback from those that did attend. It could also could turn into a pretty negative vibe for the organizers of the con who peruse that forum if they see a bunch of complaining about the con and no solutions or the solutions are outrageous.

Anyone got any ideas for what they'd want to see at a future con that's different from what it usually is? Keep in mind you need to operate on the assumption that certain things are not going to happen unless a supreme effort is put forth probably by you, who have come up with the idea.

Some my nitpicks are pretty much little things. Like they should move on to using lanyards instead of how they're doing the name tags now. I've been to a con that not only does lanyards, but were actually laminating the things on-site for at the door registrants, with a cool little machine. I've seen cons that do smaller yet much better made program books as well. It seems that one thing that's definitely stayed the same over the years is the program, in fact, without checking out some of them side by side you'd swear they're using a lot of the same text over and over again. I will say though, they've made some improvements by implementing new things, such as the "costuming" thread which evolved into the tokusatsu thread, etc. I really wish they could figure out a better way to do the awards without having to indulge the hotel and charge us for overpriced meals. I don't even come for the food, but to see the awards.

Now, this may seem like nothing to some people, but I mentioned it in the past, and here it is again. It's "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" COSPLAY. You don't have to be dressing as an anime character for it to be cosplay. The act of dressing up as a character is cosplay. I've heard the term used countless times to describe people dressing up as characters, even non-Japanese ones. Kaiju are from Japan, they're dressing as them, it would only be natural to use the term! As a matter of fact, does anyone remember this year when Shinji Higuchi was speaking, I think it was during the awards lunch? He called it COSPLAY. I was thrilled when he said that. Also as a side note, I ran into the guy dressed as Dr. Serizawa on our hotel floor, and he and his friends were calling it cosplay as well. And if I haven't said it enough already, COSPLAY.
