I really liked Kamen Rider the First. There's a sequel which hasn't gotten a legitimate release stateside. After I watched the First I tried to watch the original series that inspired it. Your best bet with things like that are torrents and the like.

The original series is currently being dubbed for free download...V3 is available for sale at JNProductions website.

The First is ok...kind of luke warm, not my favorite KR movie which would be ZO by a long shot...The First's sequel, The Next is probably one of the worst toku related things I've ever seen....stay away

Eh, I kind of enjoy the Next for all it's strangeness, but keep in mind, even as a sequel to The First, it's a very different beast.

The First at its core is a good movie. The action is great and the main storyline is solid. It drifts off into tangents here and there that if you don't have a lot of patients can be annoying, but it didn't detract too much for me.

The Next has some good qualities, mostly in the fights. But it tries too hard to fit into the modern Japanese horror genre, aping a lot of the popular films such as The Ring and Juon. In a way it would seem appropriate since the original series is very horror oriented, but doesn't work so well in The Next's case.

Both movies could probably have been edited by 15-30 minutes.
