Damn, I was hoping this was some sort of announcement. GODZILLA 1985 was my first Godzilla movie so I really really hope the US version is released on DVD someday. As far as the Japanese version goes, I have the Japanese R2 (Final Box), Universe Laser R3, and Toho Blu-ray.

I have the Monsters HD rip of the American version. I made a DVDR rip of it and the quality is stunning I must say....
