Iced Earth, going through their discography right now and i'm listening to:

Night of the Stormrider - I've softened a bit on this album now that i've started listening to the remastered version (iced earth's remasters are very much unlike megadeth's in that they don't suck the life out of the songs) but it's still not one of my favorites. it feels...thin...i don't know how else to describe it. the production, the vocals, everything just seem THIN like there's something missing. the songs are good when performed live (by Barlow) but, eh...

and then just now i started listening to Days of Purgatory for the first time ever, where Barlow re-sings a good chunk of the songs from Stormrider...soooooo much better...

ICED EARTH!!!! :D

The Dark Saga is a really underrated album, since it was such a different style compared to their other material. It's one of my faves though. Horror Show is their best album in my opinion. Something Wicked is also pretty good, especially the trilogy.

I can't stand Tim Owens, so I'm not a big fan of his albums with them. Matt Barlow didn't fit the band anymore when he came back either, so that album sucks.

I look forward to hearing the next album with Stu on vocals. Hoping for something a bit more oldschool!

I'm currently listening to the new Falconer album. It's excellent! Making a very folk metal album sung in all Swedish was their best decision yet.

Yeah, The Gettysburg Trilogy is one of the only things I like about that album... along with a few other songs. I definitely don't like either of the last two releases. The music sucked for the most part (worst on the second one). You could tell Ripper was trying to make that album better, but he just couldn't salvage the stale ideas.

Don't even get me started on Sons Of Liberty.

if by Metallica, you're referring to St. Anger, then that's something I can get behind (even though I don't HATE the album like so many do)

if you're referring to the 90s stuff (any of the 3 albums) I'm going to have to disagree (even if none of those albums are favorites by any means)

and with Risk...i pretty much agree...except i'll say that i prefer something like Risk which tries SOMETHING to a band letting itself become stagnant, like what happened to Anthrax...

Collins was also a guest musician on more than one of Brian Eno's albums in the 70's, a perfect example being this awesome sinister and moody track, "In Dark Trees", from ""....

"Chase" theme from Midnight Express by Giorgio Moroder :cylon: Something surreal about driving around the Japanese countryside with this tune playing.

Ah, what memories this brings back, in addition to the fantastic movie:

"Coast to Coast with Art Bell!"

...and...

Jim Cornette: Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Beautiful Bobby and Sweet Stan, The Midnight Express!

Phil Collins, Serious Hits...Live! Great set of stuff. If you ask me, Collins represents popular music at its very finest.
