This awesome set of Popeye bobble heads!

Image

On the downside: no Poopdeck Pappy. On the upside: they worked Eugene the Jeep in with Swee' Pea!

^He's actually called "Brutus" on the box. It stems back from the '60s and '70s when King Features thought Paramount created Bluto for the cartoons when in actuality he was a one-off villian from the comic strip around the time the Fleischer Bros. were examining it for cartoon ideas. This has caused a lot of confusion amongst licencers and both Bluto and Brutus pop up interchangibly on a lot of merch.

Bluto is now on my shelf right next to Eric Powell's comic character The Goon ... I think they compliment each other.

I haven't bought many toys in the last few years, but recent musings on my neat but small collection left me to realize I should have a more diverse collection. Mine's basically all Godzilla and Hellboy and The Goon with a few old Ninja Turtles (and the Usagi figure from the newer TMNT line. The one that actually resembles the comic character) and the MST3K bots that have come with the DVD sets.

I'm not mainly just destructive beasts. I need to more accurately reflect my personality!

...so the Popeyes are my first stop. I've decided I also need: a Tardis. a stuffed Totoro, a stuffed Winnie the Pooh, something Scrooge McDuck, and something Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck.

Oh, I also picked up this neat Groucho Marx Christmas ornament from a Carlton Cards that was going out of business:

Because nothing says Christmas like a Jewish comedian!

Now we just need guns to be true Texans.

My wife's boots are on the left, mine are on the right.
Hers are Corral brand; cow-hide and if I recall, the wings are inlaid with lizard-skin. Hers also have super-soft glove leather on the inside so they are a bit more comfy than your average boot.

Mine are Larry Mahan; calf-skin and the crosses are actually fur. They were ONLY available in-store...the designer makes them specifically for Cavender's and this particular style was not available online or by special order at all. They are a find and are awesome.

I'm the ultimate lazy person when it comes to my shoes (i haven't untied my work shoes in like two years, i almost always wear flip-flops) so cowboy boots appeal to me via their lack of laces

I also actually really like to wear boots when I wear jeans (I just like the look) and cowboy boots are just really awesome, really expensive boots made from dead animals (which makes them even cooler)
Gills.

Found the new Shockwave toy today, also got a fairly significant Shockwave comic, Issue #7 of the original Marvel Transformers comic and for only 1.00! It's in pretty great shape too!
