The two girls aren't Mothra's fairies. They're Battra's. Not that I would've seen what the big deal was, but you can all relax now.

So I'm gonna temporarily set this thread back like 2 months since I finally got around to reading the first issue. To make it quick, I'll post just random thoughts.

-The moments with the kids and the old lady are SUCH non-issues for me that I can't even relate to the people that found them offensive. The only thing that offended me about the scene with the kids is that I honestly have no clue what was supposed to be happening. They see Godzilla and he's starting to come out of the water. Then he comes out of the... sand? I don't understand what happened at all.

-I don't mind the "nuke gave him his breath" theory at all.

-The biggest problem here is the lack of focus. I get that it is just the introductory issue, but I almost feel like this would have been better as a promotional "Issue #0" (do comics still do those) type of thing.

-The other problems I had were the dialogue (the "you've gotta be f*cking kidding me" thing was lame), and just how FAST everything was. Would it have hurt to introduce some characters or story between all these panels of nothing but things blowing up? This felt like the comic book equivalent of a Michael Bay movie. All action and lame humor, nothing else (literally).

-The inclusion of Obama doesn't bother me, but the scene itself just seems so unnecessary. Its not even that it includes a little liberal bias in it, its just that it serves no purpose.

-I didn't mind Hester's art AT ALL and don't understand why its come under such heavy criticism. The biggest problem with the art is the inking, which looks to have been done digitally (which is a common and annoying trend in comics these days). So everything has a very artificial look.

Also, I know I've mentioned it before, but the reason I'm so behind on this series is that THEY KEEP SELLING OUT EVERYWHERE I GO. I finally found a store with the fist issue, but I still haven't seen the second ANYWHERE, no matter where I go. Every time these come out, I go within the first week and the are ALWAYS sold out. I'm thinking about just subscribing so I don't have to deal with this anymore. So the people saying these aren't selling as well as it looks can shove it... cuz I can't find these to save my life.

You guys wanna b*tch about the satire in KK vs. G now too because it doesn't really go anywhere?

A lot of you complain about how everything is so PC now a days, and then when people try and take some jabs you complain that the jabs were taken.

Dr. Strangelove wasn't subtle at all...those lazy "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" film makers...we all could totally do a better job of making a movie like that because we are such f'n awesome artists, writers and wanna be directors!!! Woot woot :roll:
