Arranged according to my personal favorites as well as nostalgia. This was *NOT* an easy list to make, and they often change as I have changed over the years (for example, I hated GvsThe Smog Monster as a kid....now I love it death. On the flipside, I loved GvsKing Ghidorah when I was younger...now it's fallen a bit).

I need to revise my list. It's just weird, sometimes a film simply drops down because I go forever without watching. Then I find myself sitting through something like King Kong vs. Godzilla, or Son of Godzilla and going "This is marvelous!"

5. Terror of Mechagodzilla
6. Godzilla versus The Sea Monster
7. Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah
8. Godzilla vs. The Cosmic Monster
9. Godzilla vs. The Thing
10.Monster Zero

I'm one of those Godzilla fans that truly loves all of the movies in the series, for various reasons. My rankings reflect my own personal preferrences, and they fluctuate every now-and-again, with fresh viewings of each movie.

As a matter-of-fact, if I were to choose my top ten favorite Godzilla movies of all, from a quality stand-point, as well as one for personal preferrence, this list would be fairly accurate.

My rankings are a pure generalization, nothing more. The fact that "Gigan" ranks higher than some of the more quality films in the series does not indicate that I feel it is Structurally a better movie. I shouldn't have been so vague in my criteria. The truth is, it's very hard for me to rank one film against another, Godzilla series or not. I'd rather admire each film I see as an individual work. However, I still have the "fanboy gene" in me, and it's always fun for me to do these lists.

I should have prefaced my post with "these are my ten favorite Godzilla movies, based on quality and entertainment value, nostalgia; in no particular order, as I sit here today".

I was attempting to be subjective, but in a very general form, is all.

While Gigan is marred, quality-wise, by stock footage use, it has one of the best casts in the Showa series.
