Back in the 1960s a Mexican comic book company published a series based on King Kong that ran almost 200 issues!! Check out some of the freaky looking covers.

that picture of Kong and the boat at sea makes Kong look HUGE!!! He's as big as The Kraken in the new CotT!!! :lol:

Pretty cool. They had him fight a lot of different creatures in those. Never saw them before.

Here's another weird one. In the 1967 issue of Shonen Magazine, there is a King Kong strip where he fights the Statue of Liberty. The villain (bald guy with glasses) looks like Dr.Who from the Rankin Bass animated series that King Kong Escapes was based on. Since this came out the same year the movie and cartoon did I wonder if its a tie in?
