Captain Blood

When Doctor Peter Blood (Errol Flynn, Robin Hood himself) treats a revolutionary in England he's caught, labeled a traitor, and sent into slavery in the Carribean with the rest of the rebels. With his cunning he leads a mass escape and becomes the dreaded pirate Captain Blood!

Now this is a priate movie! Our pirate heroes are the definate good guys (not as in The Black Swan where I found them too villanous for sympathy in an adventure movie) and make piracy seem like a lot of fun.

Inception

Only halfway through so far. A bit confusing, but pretty cool so far.

The Seven-Per-Cent Solution

Awesome Sherlock Holmes film which posits that all of the Sherlock Holmes stories really happened... except for two: the one where he is apparently killed in a showdown with his nemisis Morairty, and the other where he reappears after a several year absence.

These stories were penned by Dr. Watson to cover up the true events: that Holmes' cocaine addiction became out of control and his belief that Moriarity is a criminal mastermind is a delusion (he's actually a kindly old man played by Sir. Lawrence Oliver). Watson and Mycroft Holmes concoct a plan to lead Holmes to Vienna where he can recieve treatment from none other than Sigmund Freud (Alan Arkin!), but once in treatment a mystery involving another patient of Freud's leads them all into a (what else?) dangerous adventure.

I think this is quite probably the best Sherlock Holmes movie I've seen, and that's a big compliment.

Watched Monsters (2010) and found it to be, merely okay. I mean, I feel like there's a ton of potential, especially with more resources at his disposal. The Godzilla film is in capable hands.

Also, Rango (2011). Wow. This movie is crazy, and the animation is superb. It's so weird that I can't help but love it, especially since I expect so little from it.

Tangled

I liked it. Very much in line with Disney's '90s movies, but, you know, CGI. Helped by the velvet-covered shards of glass that is Ron Perlman's voice.
