Some new Ultraman vinyls. This is my small collection so far. Hopefully more to come!

For some reason, I put this in the wrong thread so here it is now:

Newest addition: Gigabrain Jet Jaguar. I love the green glitter! It was also only 29.99 on eBay too so I HAD to get it. Also, ignore the paint job there, I need to repaint that room.

Got my new X-Plus Godzilla 2003 today. It was ridiculously cheap on eBay ($160 including shipping) so I had to get it. I am glad I did because it is an awesome figure!!

Why does it feel like everyone is buying Ultraman lately...?

Oh yeah, because there's no Godzilla crap to buy anymore.

Dammit, Ultramonsters are like crack. Once you buy a few you can't stop. Venkron, King Joe, Twin Tail, Jeronimon, Mefilas, Gomora and Antlar all joined my collection today. I like how the Mefilas sculpt (dated 1983) is strong enough to still be used while everyone else are updated versions of older figures. I like how Bandai is committed to improving sculpts in this line over time. Venkron kicks way too much ass to possibly be legal.

Image

Here's the newer Antlar with the older sculpt. I'm aware the more recent figure doesn't specifically represent the character as seen in the older Ultraman series but I really appreciate how close in design the two monster suits are that it really doesn't matter.

Image

Gomora. Holy crap what a difference 17 years makes.

Some of my favorite Ultramonster designs. Anyone who rags on Toho monsters for being strange has never seen these guys.

Back that thang up!!

Surprised by another package just a few minutes ago...

A 1983 Bandai vinyl Gyango. I love this character and I love this little toy. It's actually a UK release with an English language tag. I know several figures were released this way in the early '90s. There's no date on the card but the stock number seems to place it around 1991.

Unfortunately the figure and tag came reeking of cigarette smoke and caked in dust. It didn't want to have to do it but I ended up snipping the tag and scrubbing the toy under the bathroom faucet. The smell is still there (and like several of my vintage toys will probably go away in time) but at least now it's clean. I had offered the seller (from Greece) a lower price than what he had this listed on ebay for, so I'm confident that I did okay.

These Ultramonsters really aren't that expensive. Each of mine was $9 and change. You can buy a couple dozen or so before you hit what the 30cm X-Plus Godzilla figures cost.

Which is good 'cause I'm dyin' to place another order.

Just did an order from Japan-Toys.

Ultraman monsters just look so damn cool.... guess my old hobby will be revisited.

On that subject, I don't really have any good shelves for these. Is there a place where I can get shelves? I don't want any that you build on the wall, I really just want something that sits on the ground, and has shelves throughout.

Found the display shelf I want to get. I don't won't to own as many as you guys, but maybe one of each monster(especially the TOHO series), so this display shelf thing matches what I want.

Will get this next week, and start throwing in all my figures. Will post pics as they come.
