The Baragon and Gyaos are old, but yay for more Revoltechs.

The next order will probably be the Maser Tank, Rodan, Angilas, and Gigan.

I was on my way to get some Revoltech figures earlier today. However, this plan was put on hold for the rest of this year, as I found an item that was *much* higher priority :D

Yes yes yes! What a great way to cap off 2010 (Unfortunately, I can't make anymore purchases...got to save for next year...the Revoltechs aren't going anywhere). This guy looks great with my GB 64. What a fantastic line these Gigabrain figures are....too bad they hardly ever release anything. :-\ Needless to say, like it's GB G64 counterpart, this is one of the best G62 figures ever release. The G62 suit has never been one of my favorites, but this figure has always been a *must* have. Unfortunately, every time I have seen it around Akihabara/Nakano, it was in the dreadful "black/red/white" paint scheme...which looks awful in person.

The only downside to this figure? Well, as you might be able to tell from the front view, one of his arms was a little loose (I didn't notice this until I got home and opened the package. But it's nothing major at all.

I found this guy on sale for only 1000 yen ($9). Overall, it's not a bad figure by any means, but it's definitely my least favorite of the MH figures (and the G54 suit is not one of my favorites as well). However, it was one of Marmit's first Monster Heaven figures, and they were still transitioning from the extremely stylized VP line (which I wasn't a fan of) to what would become one of the best Godzilla figure lines ever (though sadly they have faultered lately with some really mediocre Heisei-Goji figures). I picked him up because he was cheap, and for completionist's sake. His green color is not quite as bad as this picture makes with flash makes it out to be (I couldn't take a decent photo if my life depended on it). I prefer the brown color scheme, which I also saw today, but it cost significantly more. I think the G55 figure is far superior to it.

By the way, this particular G54 figure has a really sticky residue all around it...anyone know what this might be or how to eliminate it? :dunno: :?: Quality control / sticky finish/paint job? I've had a few of the older 8 inch Bandais (particularly my 8 inch King Seesar figure) that also have the "sticky" feeling to them....

My latest purchase was a B-Club Oil Drinker figure. This dude appeared in the first episode of Ultraman Taro and got eaten by the monster Astromon's flower stomache, hehe.

Did anyone happen to get the '73? I really like it from the pics but I want to see what anyone else thought of it before I got it.

Got my Christmas present today:

It's been a long time since I've gotten some Bandai figures that weren't an upgrade or something I already owned another variant of. Four years by my count. Good thing I got back into Ultraman recently, allowing me to purchase some "brand new" Bandais. Sweet.

Raise your hand if you were only ever interested in Ultraseven's Narse (or is it Nurse?) because it was the closest Bandai ever came to making a Manda figure. I remember dealers attempting to jack up the price on this one several years back and insisting that it was some sort of Mecha Manda, assuming people would be stupid enough to fall for it and spend $50+ on it. I just like how unique this particular toy is. It's all one solid piece of vinyl. It's not hollow nor does it have any articulation whatsoever.

Despite the "1993" on the body (when the mold was created) and the "2008" on the tag this figure appears to be new stock. A small blue sticker (usually placed on the inside of Bandai's vinyls) on the underside of the toy indicates the figure was only produced about six months ago. Obviously Bandai is keeping this guy in production because he appears briefly in one of the newer Ultra films. Maybe at some point in time Gyango, Dodongo or Gamakujira will reappear and Bandai will see fit to revamp and re-release figures of those guys.

Image

Eleking was one of the most popular monsters from the Ultraseven show. This mold was created in 2000, an upgrade of the original 1983 version of the monster. It'd a great figure, with lots of terrific surface detail on the body and a long, accurate tail. Dino Tank (first released in 2002) is an Ultraseven monster that seems to have a following mainly because the monster is so damn unique. I mean, what's not to love about a dinosaur grafted on to the top of a military tank? That's just genius and the figure is pulled off nicely. This is something everyone should own, even if they don't like Ultraman. It's just that quirky.

Image

I LOVE Vakishim. I adored the design long before I knew the monster's name or even what Ultra series he was in. I always got a kick of the older Bandai figure of this guy but never actually bought him. I guess his recent reappearance (in which series/movie exactly?) motivated Bandai to revisit the monster again with a brand new sculpt which looks absolutely fantastic. A few corners were cut on the head for the sake of streamlining but otherwise it's such a cool likeness. The love the complementary blue and orange color scheme. I don't have a lot of Ultraman figure, but so far this one is my favorite.

My small but awesome Ultra collection...

Wow you got some great figures Legion!

I finally got my hands on a Bandai Creations Destroyah, with all wings attached, haha!

Also picked up some Ultra goodies:

Ex Baltan. I really like this guy, great color scheme.

Mecha-Gomora

And Ultraman Zero, Ultimate Zero version. This guy is nifty!

That Mecha-Gomora ended up looking a lot cooler than I thought it would.
