Spinning flame-jetted turtles, space birds being chopped up like bologna, kids in shorts screaming for help...the original Gamera series was a strange mix of wacky fun!! The 90's Gamera films set a standard that other kaiju films are measured against! Discuss Gamera films here!!

Yes, they've finally cleared all of the rights issues concerning Gamera (too bad it was too late for them to use Sandy Frank's English dub for BARUGON, or GAMERA for that matter)!

It would have to be a video track also to remove all the MST3K elements (opening, host segments, silhouettes at the bottom) plus any editing of the movie for time purposes.

Didn't they release other titles with both the original and MST3K version the same disc? I seem to recall that, but I never bought one of them.

august, do you mean to say that Zigra will have an english dub AND the (godawfull) MST3K track or will only have the Mystery Science tracks as english dub on it ? :eek:

Hi David ....thank you .....good to hear from you ....
I know that the G VS ZIGRA dub is horrible as the movie itself but at least its the film as it was intended...I ve never been able to find the humour in the MST3K.....maybe its because i m french canadian and can t relate to their sence of humour....
Nevertherless ...no matter how bad a film ...people must have the luxary to see it as it is...
IF somebody else wants to have fun with it afterward ...its ok too...

I was concerned to be stuck with this version only ....
thanks to you and the others fans at SCIFIJAPAN I m well informed.

I really wish Xenorama would stop belittling MST3K fans just because he personally doesn't like the show. It's pretty insulting. MST3K's dedicated fan base doesn't hurt anyone. But I find there lurks a small group that dislikes the show but bypasses criticizing the program itself and attacks the fans.
