The truth is that the DVD market isn't what it was a few years ago - the dream that every single title is going to get a super-special edition release was indeed a dream, and the burn-on-demand system is the only way a lot of these rare films are going to get officially released.

Some of these titles will only sell a few copies - but to appreciative fans no doubt - that's why the price is fairly high: it's a specialty product.

Just based on how much money I habitually waste on comparative titles, I don't think I could physically stomach more than $12.99 for the movie; and even then I'd have reservations about buying a half-assed DVD-R.

And on the subject of recession... wah, wah. Everyone has an excuse to be lazy and unambitious in this country. Educate yourself and the worst of economies can yield a goldmine.
