I think it would be cool if they did link Cloverfield and this film together, setting up a final clash between the CF Monster and the S8 Monster based in 2012(just speculated based on when a 3rd COULD be filmed).

Timeline:
1970's - Events based on Super 8
2008 - Cloverfield Monster attacks for the first time in New York
2012? - Cloverfield Monster and Super 8 Monster battle!

I know, the size of the CF Monster and the S8 Monster don't match whatsoever.... but what if they NUKE it at the end of the film! lol
