Yeah, everyone seems so desperate to get Biollante over here on DVD and yeah, I guess getting an R1 version of the movie would be great but...there are other ways to get it. I'd rather get what's available right now than play a long waiting game.

For the record I have a subtitled copy that got ripped from the BD in full HD so I have a copy but still I would be nice to have a legit copy on R1 DVD.

Hold back those letters to disney; Mirimax is no longer theirs as of Sept.

[quote]The Walt Disney Company agreed late Thursday to sell Miramax Films to an investor group for about $660 million.

Disney agreed to the sale after a construction magnate, Ronald N. Tutor, and his allies paid a nonrefundable $40 million deposit and presented a financing plan.

Disney said the transaction, which is subject to certain regulatory approvals, was expected to close between Sept. 10 and the end of the year. “Although we are very proud of Miramax’s many accomplishments, our current strategy for Walt Disney Studios is to focus on the development of great motion pictures under the Disney, Pixar and Marvel brands,â€

So, I'm confused. What company actually owns Biollante now. I only see this billionaire named in the article...

As annoyed as I am at Miramax for sitting on this forever, and at this new guy for having a crappy track record, I can't help but point the brunt of my frustrations against Toho for choosing these companies to begin with and generating ridiculously worded and/or lengthy contracts with them.

I've always maintained that the English Dub of Biollante was one of the top 3 ever done, and a huge reason why I thought the movie was so good.
