Just in case anyone wants it, the Marmit Megalon build-up is being re-released in November.

It looks great, but something seems a little off about his eye positioning. In DAM his eyes were not centered but he was looking forward. Of course this is super nit picky and is no real concern.

I know this isn't news and most collectors have known about it for awhile, but this figure has apparently shipped (I saw it just the other online in its bag, but now I can't locate that link...I think it was probably a buy it now auction on Ebay for an insane amount, but someone obviously bit as it's no longer there).

Marmit MH new Burning Gojira (yes, just what the world needs):

:kitty: :kitty: :kitty: :kitty: :kitty: :kitty: :kitty:

This has to be most boring, uninspiring release of the year. The figure itself is not bad...but after the far superior releases of Marmit's burning G in 2007 and their giant burning G, :?: :x

Do Japanese collectors have such a hard on for "burning G" these days that they'll buy any G figure, no matter how uninspiring, as long as it has a red/orange glow to it? How many times must "burning G" be revisited? I am seriously not liking this latest trend with Japanese collectors one bit...I wish they showed the same desire for freaking figures as they do for Hedorah and [color=red] Goji.

I was really stoked after Marmit released their awesome MH Destroyer earlier this year, and hoped this was a sign that they're not making any of their awful Heisei Gojiras anymore....maybe move on to MH Mogera, Orga, or *gasp* return to the showa era with monsters like Gabara....but no,they follow it up with this release. Very disappointing. :th-dn:

Come on Gigabrain and Marusan, pick up the slack please...

Gigabrain, release something new? Surely you jest?

Anyway, Bob Eggleton told me recently that Marmit has realized their toys seem to be more popular overseas, so they're making what they think American collectors want to see. Hence the Heisei and Millennium stuff, which no one else but them is doing. The original 2007 Burning Godzilla was enough for me. I don't need the giant version. I don't need the kit they just did. And I don't need what's essentially the same 8" with an open mouth.

And someone needs to tell Marmit that the tails on the Heisei Godzilla don't look anything like the tails on the Millennium suits. Why the hell are they all pointed?

You know, overall I like the 2007 Burning Goji sculpt better, but I just noticed the fins on this new open-mouth sculpt are much nicer, being fully sculpted & seperate fins. But the mouth is just ugly. It almost looks like he's unhinged his jaw like a snake or something.

And speaking of Gigabrain, I just missed out on the AWESOME metallic paint variant of their Gigan on ebay. I've wanted this figure since I saw it & it seems like it NEVER comes up for sale. I finally find it for a reasonable price and while I'm contemplating how to talk my wife into it, it's sold. :( Ah well, I didn't really have the cash to spare for it anyway.

Yeah guys don't buy them. Then maybe I can finally find one of these guys. This year has been very G 84' friendly for me. About half my purchases were G 84' related.
