This is a RELATIVELY new trend that I hate...big-screen adaptations of cartoon movies featuring the cartoonier characters as cgi and the rest live action...

i don't mind if for the chipmunks because i honestly don't see how else it would work but you couldn't get a scooby-looking dog for scooby doo? and you couldn't get a garfield-looking cat for garfield? or on the flip-side, why not just go full CGI?

not to mention, i hate the idea of doing big-screen versions of these old cartoons anyway...

Soooo.... Aykroyd and Timberlake are doing (rather good) impersonations of the character's iconic voices... which leads me to question of why they spent the surely greater amount of money in casting them? Did the crew just think it would be more fun to hang out with Dan Aykroyd?

Anyway, doesn't look like the crass abomination of those chipmunk movies, I mean, it doesn't look good, but it least looks like traditional Yogi Bear: stealing picnic baskets, Boo Boo bailing him out, Yogi getting hurt, annoying Ranger Smith...

what a black day for the Academy...throwing out a soon to be highest-grossing movie of all-time like Yogi Bear shows just how out of touch these saps are (sarcasm heavily included)
