Right here in my home town of St. Louis, there will be a special Monster Movie night at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. Movies will be screened OUTSIDE at the Cohen Amphitheater.

Movies being screened:
Mothra(1961)
Gamera vs Guiron(1969)

Prices:
$10 for non garden members
$5 for garden members

Time:
Be there at 7pm. Movies will be shown back to back starting at 8:30pm till midnight!

Bonus:
Buying the tickets lets you tour the Dinosaur exhibit for free.

Bring the water... it's going to be a hot one. lol

Damn, this looks enticing, considering I live in Missouri... Except on the other side in Kansas City.

LOL.. Gamera vs Guiron might not have been the best choice, but how many chances do you get to see these films on the big screen? Not many. I'm there!!

Just got home from the event. It was just awesome watching two classic Kaiju movies outside, and on the big screen. Yes, they showed the american versions of both films. Even though the print quality for Attack of the Monsters is pretty crappy, I thought it actually looked a lot better on the big screen...somehow. Mothra obviously was a lot of fun to watch, but I enjoyed Gamera vs Guiron more, and so did the rest of the crowd... and it was a nice group, probably around 50 people showed up.

Fun event, hope they have "Monster Movie Night" again next year!

edit: Oh, forgot to mention that I won a poster for the event. You were entered in a drawing, and about 5 people got a poster... and I got one! Looks pretty cool too.
