Heard from the projectionist at the Pickwick. He said he started the Gojira disc to run in sync with the print on the projector in case something catastrophic happened. He said when the film broke it was bad enough that he decided he wouldn't be able to re-thread it and start it back up, as he would normally do, and switched over to the already running disc through the HD projector.
