Zatoichi's Revenge. This was the first Zatoichi flick I ever saw (on IFC's Samurai Saturdays, which I miss terribly), and it holds up remarkably well on repeated viewings. It manages to strike a wonderful balance of everything that makes the character and the films wonderful--the dramatic climax and score by Akira Ifukube are especially satisfying. Definitely one of the best of this highly entertaining series.

The Last ones I saw were:

Laid To Rest-I thought it was ok. I liked how they killer seem truly sadistic. It was fun to watch when nothing else was on TV.

Ghost In The Shell-truly excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Requiem for a Dream - I started thinking this was going to be a pretentious pile of crap like the insufferable Pi (which I turned off after like 25 minutes) but I got drawn in...this is a seriously disturbed movie...it still has some of that pretentiousness to it, but at least this time it doesn't insist upon itself to be a confusing jumble of disjointed crap

Toy Story 3

Incredible, the best of the Toy Story films and continuing Pixar's extremely high quality.

Battle Royale 2 - utter garbage. took everything that made the first film special and fun adn good and threw it to the side in favor of action and some heavy-handed political message

The Book of Eli. I'd heard some pretty bad things about this movie, but I actually thought it was really good. It kept me interested throughout with a compelling story and an excellent show from Denzel Washington. Terrific picture, if you ask me.

The A-Team. Caught this one yesterday with my dad. A little better than I expected. It didn't blow me away or anything, but I found it pretty entertaining.

Godzilla: Final Wars. I hurt myself today, to see if I still feel...
