So I picked this up finally and watched it for the first time last weekend. This was the first Showa Gamera movie I've ever seen and holy crap was it ridiculous. I mean that in the best way possible. Kind of an interesting feel for most of the movie. I would say it has a very distinct feel that's different from a Toho scifi/fantasy film. The suit was really neat as well as the action. I gotta say the method they use to get rid of Gamera at the end was quite possibly the best way of eliminating a giant monster I've seen in any of these movies (it's right next to the Oxygen destroyer and Dagora's bee allergy). Some real creativity went into this film, that's for sure!

I haven't watched the special features yet aside from the trailer, but I'll get to them eventually. Usually I just buy these films for the movie itself, and skip over things like commentary, etc.
Cheers to everyone involved in getting this out! I'm looking forward to the next release in July, which I have pre-ordered.

None of the copies I have do this... Those experiencing this may have bad discs. These are not apparent on any of the masters or discs that I've checked.

I've only had one freeze on my copy it was right after Gamera's Tokyo attack other than that nothing wrong with the film or any of the extras.

Is it possible for Super Monster Gamera that there could be some sort of state-side Gamera documentary ala Bringing Godzilla Down to size?

I know...hoop dream but I still think it'd be awesome
