I'm just gonna pop in just long enough to say that I find it somewhat amusing that this thread has turned into GojiraKnight vs. The Entire Godzilla Fandom.

I'm actually with him on this one. Would be nice to see a quick homage to Ifukube's music, would be nice to respect nuclear origins, and if they establish a previous '54 attack, then that would be sweet.

That being said, I have no expectations for this movie. None high, none low. I'll be holding back a lot of my opinions until I see a director, a writer, and some cast members. Then I'll decide if this movie is going to rock or suck. Until then, it can be anything.

For what its worth though, it is pretty annoying to see this movie get endlessly bashed just because its "another Hollywood movie". You don't know anything other than the fact that Legendary is making it, and it has a 2012 planned release date. There's hardly anything that can point to this being a crappy movie (and similarly, there's hardly anything that points to a great movie). If you ask me, just chill out before you have something to complain about, or to praise. It wouldn't look good for a company thats making a new movie to go onto a fan forum and see that even the fans don't want a new movie.[/rant]

Sounds good to me, of all the recent movies Iron-Man probably hits a lot of the same notes a great US made Godzilla movie would hit (and hopefully will). Quick to the Bat-poles, and over to the Director & Score thread to mention Jon Favreau.
