A remake is a movie that's meant to replicate a specific preexisting movie, like Peter Jackson's King Kong or the current Clash of the Titans. A reboot is a movie that takes a long-established character or property, ignores previous works and starts things anew, like Batman Begins or last year's Star Trek.

GINO'98 was really a Godzilla reboot, not a remake of any specific Godzilla movie that came before it.

I actually wouldn't mind if Legendary's Godzilla were a remake of the Americanized Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The story would have the potential to gel a lot better with the character of Steve Martin written in from the beginning rather than being added after the fact.

You must show no mercy, nor have any belief whatsoever in how others judge you... for your greatness will silence them all!

Well, all I can say is we'll see what happens. I fully expect Ifukube music and nuclear origins. In fact, I think both are essentials to the character. And I'll tell you what, if we get a true G-fan to make this movie, we will see both.

The sequel to G'54 is a bit iffy, I admit, though it's still certainly more possible than you guys are making it appear. Personally, I think it makes sense. But if they don't go with it, well, c'se le vie.

I really don't know why so many of you guys have decided that this film is already a lost cause that is only going to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Why even bother going to see movies if you've already decided they're bad? For that matter, why would WB/LP bother making it if they didn't want to make it good?

In my opinion, because of GINO and the disaster that was, WB/LP will be hyper-sensitive to having fan support. Is this ultimately about attracting a massive audience? You bet. But as Star Trek, TDK, Spider-Man, LOTR have shown, you can get a massive audience by appealing first to the fanbase. So WB/LP are listening to us. What do we want to tell them?

Let's face it. We'll can either get a TDK or a Transformers 2. Let's hope for the former. But we're certainly not going to get it if we've already given up now. [/b]
