Alternate sources for legit R2 dvds?

Postby Shonokin » Thu Apr 08, 2010 2:09 pm

I've been buying some R2's lately through CDJapan and amazon.jp

What kills me is the shipping which is sometimes almost as much as the item itself.

Does anyone know of an importer who can charge more reasonable shipping rates? Besides Jpophelp that is, since they double the price of all the items I've compared against cdjapan/amazon.jp before adding shipping (making them the same price as just ordering from those sources).

I can't say for sure since I do this sort of thing with toys, and not DVDs, but try Yokatta Shopping. They've done right by me for at least a year now.

So the CDJapan order came in today. It was ordered last Monday using the base Airmail option (second to cheapest which warns it could take some crazy amount of time like 12 weeks). But it made it in a week and a half... not bad.

The amazon.jp order which uses fedex was ordered Friday and arrived Monday.

BTW, the story from Gekko Kamen has some pretty cool suitmation and miniature effects. They aren't exactly realistic looking, but they are very cool.

I dunno, I received it at work so someone in the front got it and brought it back to me.
