Having just lost a bid for something truly awesome, I managed to stumble across this in my blind rage, after I hit my head on the keyboard several times.

For an idea of what a new Bandai version of a '89/'91 Godzilla, look no further than this little candy toy figure from 2006.

AH! Attack of the downs syndrome Godzillas!

I have no real disliking to the matte finish of the newer figures, I just prefer the original hard vinyl look. And not all give off the "glossy toy" look, take Bandai's Kong for example, his vinyl was very hard but the finish was dull and it came out excellent. I wish the same method was used on figures that have a dull look to them like Gorosaurus and Angilas.

Back on subject....

Legion's thread "how did you discover Godzilla?" got me all nostalgic about my first ever Bandai I acquired back in 1991 (along with Minya which I thankfully still own), the first 1983 release of the Mosu-Goji figure that was lost to me as a child. Sooo I went out and bought myself another one!

BTW, I just saw an auction on eBay end for a Bandai Moguera 8" figure for 99 cents! and still no takers. If I didn't already own the figure I'd have jumped at that!

Recent purchases include the 6" Bandai Gamera 2 figure, X-Plus Baby Irys, Marmit Monster Heaven Anguirus 1955 (the pink version), and most importantly: after nine years of searching (and having enough money at the time), I finally have the blue version of X-Plus' swimming Zigra.

Amazing figure.
Going on broke, so I'm glad I finally got this guy before I ran out of money. This'll be the last purchase for quite some time.

Just arrived. That was FAST. Best of all, the glue seals on the heads and tail are already broken, so yay.

My X-Plus Godzilla 2003 from Godzilla X Mothra X Mecha-Godzilla: Tokyo SOS came in the mail. I must say another impressive, highly detailed, and accurate paint job on the figure that looks like it jumped out of the TV and into my collection. While I like this figure, I wished X-Plus stayed with the Showa monsters to keep the line consistent. Anyhow, without further ado, here's X-PLUS GODZILLA 2003.

Those X-Plus figures look simply divine. I wish I had the money for them. :?

Any chance you can try to take a picture of it in some natural light without the flash? I find these figures look drastically different depending on how they're photographed.
