I'm encouraged that Legendary are handling this project given how they allowed Christopher Nolan free range to make "The Dark Knight" the way he wanted, a big, dark, intelligent movie with shades of Shakespearean tragedy interwoven into a film aimed at adults rather than popcorn fodder.

And I think that's what's needed here, as the BBC review of the original film says "Godzilla has a lot to say about war, and the arrogance of presuming to control indiscriminate, overwhelming power" and I think that is more relevant today than its ever been.

Boy, if they could get Nolan to direct, that would be fantastic.

Wow, so I jumped in this kinda late, huh? Been hella busy with life lately and haven't been posting, but man. I got hit with this news right when I returned from a vacation (Kiryugoji told me). Then he told me who was one of the producers, and I was like, "...huh?"

Anyway, guarded optimism is my philosophy right now. No, I don't think that tingle of excitement will strike me until I start seeing stuff (hopefully good stuff!)
