I just got back from seeing The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, a fantastic murder/thriller that I couln't take my eyes off of.....

Swedish with subtitles, 2 1/2 hours long murder/thriller based on a worldwide successful series of novels. Crazy twists and turns, excellent buildup and plot and fascinating characters full of flaws, photographed in a way that seems harsh and unflattering, and the Swedish scenery sets the mood beautifully.

I think a sequel already exists for this movie, and already they are talking about an American remake, which of course is the usual load of asinine.

the descent - mixed feelings

it starts out HORRIBLE, like the first 20 minutes had me thinking "dammit, it's Dog Soldiers all over again"

then it gets AMAZING and for maybe half an hour I was loving it...

then it loses all of that claustrophobic tension and becomes kinda generic and disappointing

neil marshall is a bad director

How To Train Your Pet Dragon (2010)
Pretty decent little movie, I liked the main dragon design,
and found the animation to be the prettiest yet from Dreamworks 7/10
Pretty enjoyable.
