i think i need to bow out of this thread for a bit...odds are it's going to get to double-digit pages pretty fast and i'll never be able to keep track of the discussion

i will say though that i hope godzilla fights a monster...godzilla by himself has been done THREE times and only one of those movies is good

a completely new and original monster could be something that adds originality and a breath of fresh air to a character whose films are in desperate need of it

For a writer, what about Michael Dougherty? Isn't he a self-professed Godzilla fan?

A director who comes to mind that has worked with WB and Legendary on genre films is Zack Snyder. Not saying I'd want him or don't want him, just making the connection. The film needs someone who gets Godzilla; not monster movies, not summer blockbuster movies, but Godzilla specifically.
