Put the Godzilla March in the opening credits. Set the tone right.
I would prefer a John Williams type composer, one that utilizes an orchestra to compose the music for the movie. Not a fan of "songs" as the backdrop sound..I like a musical score that breathes and moves with the movie, it always adds to the levity/tension/emotion of the movie when done well.
Make it different enough to make it fresh, make it your own because that's what you pay for but do it with honor, dignity and an appreciation for what the subject is. Make it Godzilla and let there be no mistake about it.
You do that and you will have a hit, rival monster or not. It's not Shakespeare, but dammit, a solid Godzilla movie is doable and it sounds as though they really do not want to make GINO 2.0....Thank God!!!
You must show no mercy, nor have any belief whatsoever in how others judge you... for your greatness will silence them all!
