Just finished Series 1. The second half of this series is still exceptionally strong and might just be the best of the revived series so far: Dalek, Father's Day, The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, and Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways are really good.

While each successive finale tried to top the last, being more and more "epic," this series finale was just epic enough and more tightly plotted making for a very satisfying conclusion.

I just watched Daleks Invasion Earth 2150 AD last night! (I've been on a complete 60s DW kick lately). One great thing about Invasion Earth: the new companion, police officer Tom Campbell, as played by... Bernard Cribbins!

Both movies are cheezy 60s fun, brilliant colors, crazy music and I like Cushing's "Dr. Who". Definitely a different kind of grandfather figure.

^ Amazed you made it through Robert. I have them and can never finish, always fall asleep. I think I'll use it next time I need dental surgery!

Course funny to see Cribbins as a kind of comic foil in light of the kind of touching depth his last Who appearance had. Also note the movies might be where the new series got the idea for the interior doors being white police box doors.

Series 2 remains my favorite, and The Girl in the Fireplace may be my favorite episode of DW, past or present. I don't complain about S2 at all.

Until I remember Fear Her.

Fry is supposedly considering to take another stab at it, and Neil Gaiman has he's writing one for next season.

There's a new BBC commercial for the upcoming season of Doctor Who that, to say it politely, is downright silly. How silly you ask? Well, if the team behind the American Power Rangers were behind the Time Lord, it would probably look a little like this, complete with the 11th Doctor battling a Weeping Angel with his BARE HANDS IN THE TIME VORTEX!

I'll hold final judgment for the episodes themselves...but now I'm starting to have my doubts...though than again, the BBC have never been subtle with any of their adverts, so can't blame it all on the new actor and production team...or can we?

^I'm pretty sure that this ad was mainly targeting children.

Come to think of it; Moffat's stories, despite all the praise heaped upon them by fans like us, are very much aimed at kiddies. They're smart, but all the best entertainment for children is smart.
