So, let's not get everything muddled and misinterpreted, so that it no longer resembles the truth. Again, officially, Shout! wants to do a BD release for these, since they paid for the licensing to do so, but the economy and the current state of the marketplace is keeping them from doing so at this time. Just because they aren't doing them out of the gate, doesn't mean that they aren't going to release BDs at all.

Shokara, I'll have to watch the movie again (haven't in ages), but at the time the film was made, Daiei was owned by Tokuma Publishing until the more recent sale to Kadokawa. Shueisha, who publishes Shonen Jump, was a rival to Tokuma Publishing, so they might be bashing the Shueisha-published magazine. But, don't fear, any jokes will be translated to the best of our abilities, and/or mentioned in the audio commentary.

August, as far as translating and subbing goes it sounds like Shout is doing a great job. I'd like to note though I really hope they sub the Gamera songs as well. I've noticed kaiju DVDs don't typically sub them, and if I recall ADV didn't sub the end songs on the Heisei films (Or am I wrong? Anyone feel free to correct me).
