I apologize for ressurecting this thread but with the pilot of the new series Caprica already airing, well I might as well use this one.

First off though, I saw a television edit of "The Plan" and well most of the fears have been borne out. Aside from the destruction of the Colonies as well as excellent acting by Dean Stockwell, it felt like a recap episode. What is more sad is the fact of the director of this particularly movie.

Now as for Caprica, here are my thoughts.

I just recently watched the pilot of the new TV series Caprica.

So far it seems somewhat interesting though this does have problems.

What I did like: the actors who played Daniel Greystone and his wife as well as Joseph Adama and Sam Adama. Also I can perhaps see how the dynamic that may play out throughout the series and about how Joseph will attempt to stop Greystone, no doubt using the help of his links with the mafias and syndicates. In terms of doing well, the actor who plays Joseph seems to have the hardest role as well he is the connecting link between Caprica and Battlestar Galactica.

The scene at the end where Joseph tells his son about the true history of their family combined with the end where the first Cylon is being tested is really impressive (also pay attention to the music score used when Joseph tells his son his true last time as I think it will be very recognizable).

Also I can just imagine what could have been achieved had they had access to movie level budgets when they created the prototype Cylon.

What will concern me: the actors who are playing the teenager characters as well as the young kid who plays a young William Adama. As for the kid, I can guess that perhaps he is a beginner and really hope that he steps up to the plate (he seemed way too static and unemotional, particularly at the end of the pilot). The bigger worry is the actresses who play Zoe Greystone as well as her friend Lacy. Something seems off with those two particularly with Zoe.

Did pretty good but with a heavy need for improvement and the fact that they are walking a very fine line here. Well see later in the episodes start airing next week.
