There are 4 Hollywood Videos and 1 Blockbuster closing in my area and I've been raiding them once a week for the last month or so. Hollywood Video has them at 3 for $8 (with the prices dropping weekly), so I've been going crazy. Just today I picked up:
-Boogie Nights
-Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Bombs
-The Fall of the House of Usher (1960)
-Pit and the Pendulum (1961)
-Black Sunday (Mario Bava)
-The Wicker Man- Extended Cut (had the US edited version and upgraded)
-Blood Simple
And in the past few weeks, I've gotten somewhere around 35 other titles from these stores going out of business (yup, I have a HUGE stack of DVDs to watch, as well as the stuff I have DVR'd and stuff I have coming in from Netflix on a regular basis). Unfortunately video stores are a dying breed, but its more than worth checking into their clearance sales if you can find any going out around you. Not only is stuff super cheap, but you can also find some really rare items (for example, I managed to find the long out of print Criterion release of Hitchcock's Rebecca for about $5... it usually goes for around $60).
Also, I picked up the DVD for Clive Barker's Dread at Best Buy on Tuesday.
