Props to Sam Raimi for walking away from clueless Hollywood bean counters who wouldn't let him do the film he wanted.

What's the point in a reboot though? The first movie already had him in high school and showed the origin. That movie really wasn't that long ago. Major studios just keep getting dumber and dumber when it comes to these superhero franchises. Just get a really good director like Alfonso Cauron and knock out a really kick ass part 4. They don't need Raimi to continue the original timeline. Then again, it sounds like Sony is interested in everything BUT making a good movie.

I really just wish Marvel could get the film rights back to Spidey, X-Men, Ghost Rider, etc.

I liked Spidey 2 but not a fan of the other two...was never a fan of Tobey as Peter or Dunst as MJ...a reboot is unessecary but I am relieved that the current crew is done with Spidey...Rami I guess will go off to work on WoW but I think his calling will always be horror and I hope that he can now concentrate on that

^It's pretty much a perfect modern adaptation of the first ten years or so of the comics.

Some may be put off by the "soap opera" elements, but these were in the original stories.
