I recently watched The Hangover...but for my most recent review I also recently watched Bachelor Party - check it out

a review of The Hangover is forthcoming but I think first I'm going to do Return of the Living Dead in honor of O'Bannon...I need to track down a copy first though...

Been on a kaiju viewing spree lately. Thanks to that nice Best Buy Media Blasters Sale, I got a few new DVDs.

So far I've seen:

Frankenstein Vs. Baragon

Legends of Dinosaurs and Monster Birds

Varan

Here's one non-kaiju related:

Zebraman, this is my first time seeing this film, and I thought it was fun, but I do feel really sorry for Ichikawa.

Off from the Kaiju and Sentai aspect, I did watch other films as well:

Whispers: An Elephant's Tale, saw this with my little nephews. I think it would have been so much better if it was made as a cartoon.

The Mummy (1999)

Terminator: Salvation

Drove into Hollywood last night to the Arclight to see Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus.... http://movies.nytimes.com/2009/12/25/mo ... arium.html

Heath Ledger's last movie, he died mid-production and his remaining scenes were filmed with Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell.

Beautiful production, but a mess.

Avatar IMAX 3D. Probably the best movie going experience I've had since watching Star Wars as a child.

I liked it, a bit like Princesss Mononoke but not quite as good (though it's major league unfair to compare with Miyazaki). It's always good to see humans as the bad guys (like in real life!).

Latitude Zero, first time seeing it, it was good. It had its ups and downs, but I sure did feel it had somewhat of a sad ending. I only saw the U.S. version, haven't seen the original yet. Are all the Japanese actors speaking themselves in English or were they dubbed. It looked like they were speaking English.

I recently Netflixed The Silent Scream, an old 80's slasher.

It was ok. Barbara Steele was in it and gave a great performance, and the murders were well filmed, but I the rest had the feel of a 70's tv movie. Not an awful slasher but not the best either.
