I for one really do look forward to seeing it. Now, it's just a matter of getting a ticket waaaay in advance, it seems! :(

Well, in the meantime, there's Die Hard 1 and 2 at the Egyptian in Hollywood this weekend, and maybe lunch at Roscoe's Chicken n Waffles beforehand. :D

I was planning on going tonight with friends, but a freak snowstorm hit, so I probably won't get a chance until early next week.

But I really want to like this! Even if it's all effects-no story, I hope it's a lot of fun. After all, it's not like it's going to be cheap to see this one.

I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. Unlike that other overhyped alien movie, this one was good. It wasn't perfect, or even close to this year's best movie, but it was definitely one hell of a ride. I do think it could have been about 20 minutes shorter, but all in all, it was good albeit predictable. After all, every character fit the normal stereotype, but it was nice to see an old story done with new execution.

Uh oh, a positive Kain review.

This isn't looking good for me.

Here's an interesting website about the film:

Due to the ironic circumstances of Sigourney Weaver's attachment to both this Cameron film and the Discovery Channel's documentaries on alien life forms using CGI.
This film actually looks like it would slip right into the Discovery Channel's Sunday line up and fit right in as a big budget special.

I wouldn't be too surprised to see a Weaver narrated Avatar special on the Discovery channel in the future if this film becomes popular enough.

Although my feelings don't come down on Avatar as hard as this guy, this is probably the best/most sensible review I've seen yet.
