Same here. Zebraman is one of my favorite superhero movies of any genre (American superhero, tokusatsu, Santo, etc etc). I first read about this on a couple of months ago. I thought I posted something about it here, but maybe it was elsewhere.

Suffice to say I'm excited about it!

The whole set up man...the guy starts off trying to emulate a lame rip off of Kamen Rider and along the way becomes a super hero himself....did we watch the same movie?

The difference is "sentai" refers to team superhero shows. I (and most others, I'd assume) know what KG meant, but some people are unnecessarily anal when it comes to those things.

I don't think it's unnecessarily anal. Is it unnecessarily anal to specify the difference between Godzilla and Power Rangers? Sentai is a single running series based on a specific set of tropes within the henshin hero genre. It's like the difference between a bug and an insect.

Maybe I'm just anal. *shrug*

Everyone has their likes and dislikes and a rather large (seems to me) segment of toku fans actually like one Toei sentai show or another. I won't disparage them for their entertainment preferences and as such will not insult the shows themselves.

So as such, I use it as a descriptor, not as a derogatory term. I think when it gets derogatory folks start just calling it "power rangers" anyway, right?

K_G, I love K20. I was lucky enough to see it on a big screen and wrote a review at .
