The black hole of moviemaking originality sucks in another movie with a remake of Disney's .

Had no idea this was even in production. BBC has remade as a miniseries... ! Starring Dougray Scott, Joely Richardson, Brian Cox, Vanessa Redgrave, Eddie Izzard and Jason Priestley. Possibly will show before the end of the year (?)

Based on the photo showing a tanker that says "TriffOil", it looks like it's more a remake of the 1981 miniseries rather than the original story or '62 movie.

Between this and the 2 part finale of Doctor Who, the last week of the year looks good for SF fans in the UK!

They are remaking the Brood?! GROAN! This was a VERY personal film for David Cronenberg (made during the nasty divorce from his first wife and the vicious custody battle for his daughter that followed) and its undoubtedly going to be turned into garbage by the director of Sahara of all people (and also behind the abysmal looking remake of Romero's underrated The Crazies).

http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/35001/ ... a-director

I just stumbled upon this quote from one of my favorite shows of the 90s, the Critic. They are words to live by, spoken by Jon Lovitz's character Jay Sherman.

"I am a movie critic by trade and until recently, I got paid to tell you people which movies merely stink and which ones you shouldn’t screen near an open flame. Well, I’m putting the burden of lousy movie back on you. It’s very simple: if you stop going to bad movies, they’ll stop making bad movies. If the movie used to be a TV show, just don’t go. After Roman numeral II, give it a rest. If the movie is a remake of a classic, rent the classic. Tell them you want stories about people, not a hundred million dollars of stunts and explosives. People, it’s up to you. If the movie stinks, just don’t go."
