Well, as some of you may know the original Looney Tunes on TV was only a limited time thing and they disappeared after the New Years marathon.

....but, the WB is preparing a massive relaunch of the Looney Tunes brand this fall with "The Looney Tunes Show," a new series which features all of the characters living in a neighborhood and Bugs and Daffy are room mates (naturally). Check out the character designs:

Who knows whether it'll be good, but I really dig the designs, especially that Bugs and Daffy harken back to their earlier '40s looks (Bugs' rounded face is back!).

Also: new CGI Road Runner/ Wile E. Coyote shorts will start accompanying crappy family movies produces by WB, starting with the "Cats and Dog" sequel.

Awesome news! I love the idea of the shorts too btw! I really wish Disney would bring back Mickey like that.

Those character designs are amazingly classic...great stuff

Talented Canadian animator/Spumco vet Jessica Borutski designed the new Looney Tunes! So I am very impressed!

The cel animation looks great! The CGI not so much. Also it's just not the same without Mel Blanc's voice talent. That's not anyone's fault, but to me, he is those characters and no matter how close they approximate it, it always sounds off. Like it's overproduced, or muffled or something, it just doesn't have his raw, edgy sound. Heck even Mel's own voice-overs when he got up in years didn't sound right.

I'm thinking a full 24 minute show might be about like making an SNL skit into a movie and will wear thin, but who knows. It'll really have to have sharp writing.

OK, enough cynical-ness, the animation does look great!
