Why don't Toho's blu-rays have their own thread?
I received and watched bits of Godzilla vs Biollante this afternoon. For the most part it looks incredible, obviously leagues ahead of any other version I've ever seen, with little details standing out that I've never noticed before. There's a bit of grain, but overall it's not much of a problem. It's supposed to be there anyway so I'm going to complain. The audio is also fantastic but maybe that's just because I haven't watched the R2 DVD in a long time.
I'm on the fence at the moment on whether or not I'm going to pick up any more of Toho's Godzilla blu-rays in the immediate future. The release schedule is insane. Three to four at a time at a rate of every other month means a lot of dough would be spent getting all of these as they're released. Sucks because these are the very reason why I bought a LCD TV and a Playstation 3 in the first place. I'll get them eventually, and the fact that Mothra vs Godzilla and Ghidrah are indeed coming in March (they're listed, but not pictured in a booklet inside the blu-ray case) are definitely promising. I'd rather have those than anything else coming out this year.
