Well, haven't done this in a while. Here's a new one I hope a lot of people know. If not, here is a .

I loved this movie ever since the first time I found it. I never once did despise this film and it happens to be amongst my favorites in the genre.

I love everything about this movie and I truly believe that H.G. Wells Empire of the Ants is nothing in comparison.

According to , this film was supposed to be in color, but the budget was cut two days before shooting began by a nervous studio. I am somewhat glad they did, as I think it looks so much better in B&W.

One thing I truly love this movie for other than that mysterious, horrific feel it gives off is the character, Dr. Harold Medford. Not only did he make me laugh, he would say so many memorable quotes that I truly loved.

I think the most memorable quote is this:

"When Man entered the atomic age, he opened a door into a new world. What we'll eventually find in that new world, nobody can predict. "-Dr. Harold Medford.

It's not a bad movie, but i've only seen it once.

It's one of those movies I wish was on TV just randomly more often. I own the DVD, but I don't re-watch tons of movies on DVD since there's literally thousands of movies out there i've never seen that i want to....

Behemoth is a lot of fun, and the Psychotronic Encyclopedia of Film called it one of the scariest of giant monster on the loose movies. I like it a lot. DVD looks great, but does sport possibly the worst commentary track ever done, by two guys that should have known better.

I like THEM! quite a bit. For me, the best part of the picture is the slow reveal process. It adds a lot of suspense to the proceedings.

I love Reptilicus. It's always refreshing to see different countries take on giant monster movies.

I've only seen Angry Red Planet once, and it didn't really leave much of an impression. I honestly don't remember anything in the movie other than the weird crab-rat-monster-thing.

I saw Empire of the Ants first run at the drive in. I remember it really creeping me out.

The Giant Behemoth I remember staying up til 2am to see on TV in the early 70s. I didn't appreciate it much at the time. BUT 30 some years later, I got it on DVD and really liked it a lot. I actually like the Behemoth model more than Ray's Rhedosaurus.

The Monolith Monsters I saw one Saturday afternoon also in the early 70s and it freaked me way out. The girl's arm turning to stone really got to me. For some reason that really horrified me. Another one that was great to finally get on DVD.

Other things I remember from that time frame: Watching professional wrestling late at night with my brothers in our bedroom and after that on Saturday nights Boris Karloff's Thriller came on. Also Night Gallery and Kolchack the Night Stalker was giving me continual nightmares.

In the summers one of the local theaters liked to show fringe genre movie matinees and a few I remember are Jack the Giant Killer, Super Argo and Captain Sinbad. One of those summers saw the nationwide theatrical release of Godzilla vs The Bionic Monster, which was the first Godzilla movie I saw in a theater.

Even as a kid I was very impressed by the spfx in THEM! The ants were actually created for the movie, not stock footage of real ants filling in as the main attraction. I used to hate those dinosaur movies that showed footage of lizards (some with fake glued on attachments) as the dinosaurs.

I have yet to see The Giant Claw but i'm sure it will be groovy!

^That's the one of the reasons I didn't like H.G. Wells' Empire of the Ants. It just didn't convey the feel that Them! did to me. I don't like it also when they use lizards for dinosaurs. A big example of that has to be Caveman. Now while the FX in that movie might be terrible, I truly think the comedy makes up for it.

I haven't seen MONOLITH MONSTERS, but I hope to soon!

the effects are terrible in CAVEMAN? and the COMEDY makes up for it? wow, most of the reviews at the time said the exact opposite.

I love the movie, and that is some of the best animation that was done at the time. the composing of Ringo Starr on the "horned lizard" is amazing, and something that hadn't been done much before, if at all.
