Now I am not sure about this, if it was either Tanaka or Tsuburaya, but one of them did say how Godzilla is not supposed to be scary or horrific or anything. Sure, in the movies there are people running away from a giant monster, that's a normal reaction, doesn't classify Godzilla as horror. I could agree somewhat with ALLOSAURZ on the sense of saying that Godzilla is horror like Frankstein. Still, I don't know about Godzilla being scary or anything. I do agree with Legion, I would love to see the same Godzilla that was in the beginning of the Showa era where he would act like a badass and whatnot, hell, I love Mothra vs. Godzilla and I know others do after those amazingly positive views of it in the talkback thread. I know Godzilla has "allegorical" meaning probably, doesn't mean he is to be a dark, scary, and whatnot. I'm pretty sure Godzilla would be ruined for many people if you were to see him bite the head of a human being or anything. In the original film, they even did take out the scene of Godzilla with the bleeding cow in his mouth because it was too gruesome.
uhh...
